Allissa’s genre can be described as alternative pop with a “dark side”. She strives to write music that is honest and relatable to everyone, and her goal is to breath hope into people’s souls through the lyrics and music she writes. Although her music style consists of deep, metaphorical lyrics and minor chords, all of her songs have “a light at the end of the tunnel”.
Allissa’s inspiration comes mostly from her faith, experiences in life, both good and not so good, and the experiences of those around her. She has been compared to Christina Perri, Florence + The Machine, Adele, Evanescence, and a female version of Colton Dixon.
Although she shares some similarities with these artists, she does not feel that any one artist or genre completely embodies who she is as an artist. But what’s the fun in fitting in when you can stand out?
